höstgarderoben

När jag flyttade till Stockholm den här gången gjorde jag det med en resväska. Den vägde visst 32kg (slapp betala 12 kg övervikt!), men det är ändå inte mkt som får plats där utav ett helt materiellt liv. Eftersom jag säkert hade 15 kg pyssel redskap och material så blev det inte så mycket över till kläder.

Nu har det blivit kallt över en natt och jag står här utan höstplaggen. Hela den delen av garderoben är kvar i Gent (Belgien). Inga pengar finns till nya heller, totalt pank. Jag har ju några par byxor och en och annan kofta, som jag vet att jag kommer tröttna fort på. Får nog ge mig ut på höst jakt på de billigare secondhand butikerna. Kanske kolla blocket och ebay efter vrakpriser (älskar ordet). Återkommer när jag hittat något!

ny pyssleblogg funnen

Det är inte så ofta som jag surfar förbi en pysselblogg där jag faktiskt gillar sakerna som pysslas. Men idèerna på fixa&dona tilltalar mig, ibland blir det lite för stilrent för min smak (I love kitsch) men det finns många bra tips och trix. Jag gillar speciellt den här idén:

Så enkel idé, blir så piffigt. Det är alltså bara en upp och nervänd kopp som är fastlimmad under en tallrik. Jag ska nog göra min egen rosa variant inom snar framtid.

Ja, jag måste pyssla lite mer snart, typ nu! Har haft en pysselsvacka den senaste veckan, jag bara surfar och är trött på kvällarna och på dagarna får jag absolut inget gjort då min son tar all tid. Men nu känner jag mig så inspirerad, det börjar klia i pysselnervern, ni vet den som sitter mellan tummen och pekfingret och längst ut på pekfingrets topp.

Men när jag tänker efter har jag visst pysslat, jag har ju stickat fler kedje halsdukar, de tar lite tid, några kvällar styck. Men nu behövs det göras något nytt. Jag väntar på att min man ska ta med sig dragkedjor från pysselrummet i Gent, det är det som är nackdelen med att bo lite här och var, sakerna är spridda och man behöver alltid det som är där man inte är. Om han mindes att packa ner dem så får jag dem snart, han landar om en timme eller så. Så imorgon kanske jag kan göra den dära lackväskan jag klurat på i några veckor. Åå, den kommer att bli så snygg! Trekantig ska den bli och multifunktionell. Kanske ska börja klippa ut den redan nu, så att jag kan sy den i morgon, Ja, det gör jag!

Just before my son started crawling (a few weeks ago) he easily got bored just sitting on the same spot. So I started to make a playing mat. He quite often fell over, I made it with a thin layer of foam in between fabric of cotton to soften his falls. My idea was to fill the mat with things to play with, add some new things each week, so he wouldn't get bored. This hasn't happened yet, but it will!

The first thing I made was a butterfly. I cut out two layers of a bowtie shaped babycord cotton fabric. I left a hole in the middle to be able to get the stuffing in. Then I decorated the front bits with some yellow stitching, before I stitched the both layers together.

Then I stuffed it with some bits of foam,

and some plastic wrapper from a cookie package, to make it sound more interesting.

I tclosed the middle with some zic-zac seams.

I wrapped some string with a pink thread and then stitch them into place in the middle.

A piece of green fabric was folded and stitched on the side, then turned inside out and wrapped around the middle of the butterfly, then stitched.

I marked a circle on the fabric of the mat and stitched the green fabric on to it. Before I closed the seam I shoved in some bits of foam.

The next thing was a strap with wooden rings and other things. I first made a strap in the same fabric as the mat. Then I marked with needles where I wanted to fasten it on to the mat. To make sure the fabric of tyhe mat wouldn't brake I ironed on some backing where the stitches would go.

Before I stitched the strap on to the mat I stitched on my sons name on it. Then I just stitched the strap in to place where the marks were.

It seems like he likes it! When finished I did realize that butterflies have heads, so my friend Finn will add one on later.

I'm praising the "Zelf doen in en om het huis" do-it-yourself book from 1976 that I found for 50 cents on a belgian fleamarket last year. It's full of great, cute, funny, practical and beautiful ideas. I'll show you a selection to get you inspired.

Ok the materialistic happiness is still working. I just bought these kool objects from etsy.

Now I can't wait until I get my hands on them. There so tiny!

The problem about selling on Etsy is that I never get to cash out the money, I just buy other things, or is that the good thing about it?

Den här månaden kommer min familj spendera 20 timmar på flygplan och då är det bara sträckan Stockholm-Bryssel. Vi kommer inte ha pengar över till något annat än att resa. Hur har vi råd med fem t o r resor? Det sjukt när jag tänker på hur mkt pengar som bara flyger iväg (ursäkta ordvitsen). Men vad skulle vi annars göra med pengarna? köpa en stor TV, en fungerande kamera, galet mkt kläder, ett skrivbord med skön stol eller gå på bio varje dag? Efter den listan känns det inte så sjukt längre.
Man ska spendera tiden med dem man älskar eller på vägen till dem. Inget annat är ju värt så mycket i jämförelse med det. Råkar man älska människan i ett annat land får det helt enkelt bli så här. Vad är en kamera som fungerar när man kan ta randiga foton, en Tv när man har dator och nya kläder när man kan sy? Å nej, den materiella lyckan kan jag var utan tills vidare.

This really is a fun and easy project. It's decorating the wall in our dining room now, which has quite cold colours, this lamp adds a bit of warmth. I'm sorry that the photos sucks, I need a new camera!

This is one of the pictures. It is a very delicous dish, Belgian vol-au-vent.

These 70's foodpictures are great. I wish I would make a table like this some times, what a feast!
