To make these you will need: Paper, fabric (tricot and corduroy is my recommendation), foam, thread, sewing machine and some patience.
Start with drawing around your favourite sized shoe on a piece of paper.
Straighten the lines a bit like this:
To make a top for the slipper. Cut out the pattern and copy half the shape on to another paper which you also cut out. Cut that pattern in half and put it on another piece of paper as you see on the picture below. The gap in the middle should be about 5 cm, a bit more if you know you have thick feet. Draw a line around it and even it out a bit on the top. (this step is to make sure your foot fits in the slipper, this way you'll not mess up the outer line when it comes to matching it with the soles)
Copy the shapes on to a piece of foam. My foam was quite thin so I made it double. The top bit you just need one layer of though. Don't forget to mirror the pattern by putting upside down, otherwise you'll end up with two lefties!
Copy and cut out the shapes of fabric. You will need two times both patterns and two times both patterns mirrored. It's good if one of the sole pieces is from a heavyweight fabric, I just corduroy to get an antislip effect as well. Take the top bits of fabric and stitch them together on the straight side, nice side facing each other.
Turn it, and wrap it around the top piece of the foam. Then pin it on to the sole piece of fabric and stitch around, nice side facing up. If you want to decorate the top do that before this step.
Pin and stitch this to the heavyweight sole piece, nice sides facing each other. Make sure the seam is inside of the other seam. Leave a gap at the heal for turning.
Get your sole pieces of foam and position them into place.
Turn it rightsideout. This can be a bit tricky. Use a bone folder to poke out the toebit.
Fold, pin and stitch close the hole at the heal. Do the next foot as well.
They're ready to wear! Mmm, nice ones, so comfy and cozy.
Jag är mycket mycket imponerad :)
